Biography

Sido (Paul Hartmut Würdig) was born in East-Berlin on November 30, 1980. He lived in the Western part of the city from 1988 on, and began releasing rap music under the name RoyalTS in 1997.

In 2003, he started his solo career as Sido, immediately causing a controversy with songs containing explicit and misogynist lyrics like "WeihnachtsSong" and "Arschficksong". The following year saw the release of his first album "Maske" which turned out to be a commercial success. In 2005, he and rapper Harris co-founded the duo "Deine Lieblings Rapper"; in 2006, he published his first autobiography "Ich will mein Lied zurück".

Sido's next albums charted as well, and he received numerous awards for his music. With mainstream success, his public image gradually began to change, although he occasionally still made headlines with his involvement in verbal and physical confrontations.

In 2009, Sido made his feature-film debut with a self-parodying cameo in the comedy "Männersache". Two years later, he starred in "Blutzbrüdaz" (2011), playing an aspiring rapper, and in 2015, he was one of the leads of the comedy "Halbe Brüder".
