Johannes Leistner was born in 1981 in Berlin. After studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics in Oxford, he studied Directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art and the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. His films include: "The princess and the pauper" (doc short, 2009), "Opfer" ("Submerged", 2010), and his feature debut "Das dunkle Haus am Rande des Waldes" ("The dark house by the woods", 2016).
