Born in Karlsruhe in 1976, he grew up in Freiburg in Breisgau. From 1998-2002 he studied American language and literature and media at Hamburg University. He subsequently worked as an assistant photographer and also worked on a number of film productions from 2002-04. Having studied visual communications at the Hamburg College of Fine Arts from 2004-09, "Glebs Film" marks his graduation film.
