Das alte Lied
Germany, the year 1990. One year ago, the German wall fell. Katharina, who fled from the GDR to Hamburg forty years ago, can finally return to her old home in Dresden. There, she wants to celebrate her 70th birthday and Christmas together with her whole family. Yet do the others actually want this? Soon, her return is overshadowed by lies of the past. Katharina's former big crush Alf actually only had eyes for her rebellious sister Ilse. Their grown-up kids distrust each other's family. Moreover, there's the lingering suspicion that Katharina ratted Ilse out to the authorities. Not to forget the house itself, which Katharina calls her own without a feeling of guilt, despite the fact that she bought it for a price way below its value from a Jewish family during the Nazi reign.
