Georgi Shengelaya was born in Moscow in 1937, and has worked in the film industry as an actor, writer and director. His films include: "Two Stories" (1963), "Pirosmani" (1969), "Melodies From An Old Quarter" (1973), "A Young Composer's Odyssey" (1984) and "Khareba and Gogi" (1987).
