Biography

Daniel M. Harrich was born in Munich on August 7 1980. He studied economics in London and Atlanta, and later worked for the Endeavor talent agency in Los Angeles. From 2000 on, Harrich was a producer and author for the Munich-based production company diwafilm, which was founded by his parents Walter Harrich und Danuta Harrich-Zandberg in 1983. In this function, he worked on TV documentaries like "Der Contergan Skandal" (2003), "Charles Lindbergh: The True Story" (2005) and "Wirkstoff Profit - Die Medikamenten-Mafia" (2009).

In addition to this, Harrich began to study at the conservatory of the American Film Institute in 2006. His graduation film "Acholiland" (2008) won three Student Emmys. Back in Germany, he went on to work as director on several TV documentary features.

Harrich's first feature film, the crime drama "Ein schmaler Grat", premiered at the 2013 Max-Ophüls-Preis Festival. Only a few months later, his follow-up, the thriller "Der blinde Fleck", premiered at the Munich Film Festival.
