Marie-Christine Friedrich, born August 30, 1979, in Vienna, Austria, studied theatre studies and Romance studies in Vienna and attended Konservatorium Wien, a private music conservatory in Vienna, from 1999 to 2001. Subsequently, Friedrich attended drama school at Schauspielschule Krauss and successfully graduated in 2003. During her time at drama school, Friedrich already performed on stage, for instance, in a production of "Don Juan oder Die Liebe zur Geometrie" at Theater in der Josefstadt or in a production of "Die bitteren Tränen" at Freie Motorenfrabrik. In 2003, she made her debut on the TV screen in the episode "Attentat auf Rex" of the TV crime series "Kommissar Rex". She then appeared in supporting roles in TV series like "SOKO 5113" or "Typisch Sophie", or in TV movies like "Blatt und Blüte" that starred Friedrich alongside Christiane Hörbiger and Götz George. Furthermore, she entered the movie screen in films like "Karo und der liebe Gott" ("Karo and God Himself", 2006). Friedrich won the award as "Best actress" at the 2007 Gijón Film Festival for her performance in the French father-daughter drama "Tout est pardonné" ("All Is Forgiven", 2006). In 2008, Friedrich played another leading role on the movie screen in Friederike Jehn’s award-winning directorial debut "Weitertanzen".
