Norbert Heitker was born on July 9 1971 in Aschendorf. From 1993 until 1996, he studied media technology in Hamburg and subsequently directed numerous music videos and commercials for the Vienna-based production company Doro. Heitker helmed videos and concert films for acts like Die Ärzte, Rammstein and Die Toten Hosen. He is a two-time winner of the Audience Award for Best German Music Video at the Kurzfilmfestival Oberhausen: In 2004, he won with his clip for the Die Ärzte song "Dinge von denen"; in 2007 he got the award for the clip for the song "1.2.3." by Bela B. Feat. Charlotte Roche. His TV commercial "Gurte retten Leben" won the 2007 Austrian State Award for Best Ad Campaign. Norbert Heitker made his feature film debut with the "Wacken 3D", a 3D concert film and documentary shot at the legendary Heavy Metal festival.
