The Fairy-Tale Castle

"Das Märchenschloss" is a children′s film based on a picture book by Fred Rodian. It tells the story of three brothers – Klaus, Günter, and Peter – who head out into the world to meet their dreams. While Klaus dreams of a combine harvester, Günther dreams of a tractor. Little Peter, however, yearns for something completely different: a fairytale castle. On their pilgrimage the three children find none of that. Eventually, Klaus and Günther give up their search. Only Peter stays persistent – and he gets rewarded for his troubles. He meets the pony Pedro, which leads him to the Rose Castle, a kindergarten belonging to the adjacent agricultural production cooperative. Grateful for returning their lost pony, the children invite Peter and his brothers to the harvest festival, and reality turns out to be even more exciting than all their dreams.
