Daniel Taye Workou, born in Berlin to Ethiopian parents on 6.6.1969. After completing studies in international relations he worked for several non-governmental organisations. He subsequently attended a graduate film course at Columbia University in New York. "Menged" was filmed near the village where his grandfather grew up.
