Born in Berlin in 1978, he studied social sciences from 2001-03. During his studies he worked in film production. He was a cinematographer in northern Uganda and Cameroon on the documentary, "Rich Brother", among others. "Lebendkontrolle" is his graduation film from the "Konrad Wolf" College of Film and Television in Potsdam-Babelsberg.
