Since the end of the 1990s, Ali Eckert is working as a freelance photographer, producer, assistant director, and director of advertising and industry films. Eckert won the 2004 Murnau short film award for his short film "Dark Ages" (2003, co-directed by Daniel Acht) and the Flensburg short film award. In 2007, Eckert finished his debut feature film, the low-budget comedy "Video Kings" (again co-directed by Daniel Acht).
