Stefan Weinert started acting professionally in the theater at the age of 22. After working successfully as a stage actor he decided to switch perspectives, studying Set & Film Design at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna. He then moved to Barcelona where he worked as an art director and designer, as well as for the national opera houses in Cologne and Vienna, among others. He subsequently studied Acting, moving for short periods to New York City, Geneva and Vienna before finally returning to Germany, where he has since worked as an actor in film and television.

In 2000 he began acting in international productions and has starred alongside Patrick Swayze, Val Kilmer, Catherine Deneuve, Tcheky Karyo and others. Parallel to his acting career, in 2000 Weinert began to direct and produce his own films.
