Jukka Schmidt was born in Worms in 1970. In 1995, Schmidt and Christian Mrasek co-founded Ehrenmann Filmproduktion. Until the end of the 1990s, the two self-taught filmmakers completed several shorts. In addition to this, Schmidt began to work as a film editor and also moonlighted as a DJ under the moniker "DJ Warme Cola". In 2013, Schmidt and Mrasek released their first feature length film "Hans Dampf", which they both co-directed.
