Born in 1961 in Sopot/Gdańsk, Poland, where she also grew up. Moving to Germany in 1981, she studied at Hamburg's University of Fine Arts from 1984-91, then at Offenbach College of Design and finally at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences from 1993-95. She has been a lecturer in Offenbach and Hamburg since 1999. A published writer, comic book author and artist who has also held exhibitions, she began making films in 1988 and has also mounted performances and stage shows since 1991.
