Biography

Klaus Kraemer was born in Gosheim in 1964 and received training as a technical draughtsman. He worked at theatres in Freiburg and Esslingen before starting studies at the German Film & Television Academy (dffb) in Berlin in 1991. He has served as director of photography on several shorts such as Christa Melli"s "Ausser Kontrolle" (1992), Thure Riefenstein"s "Lonely Nights" (1994) and Sebastian Edschmid"s "Freifahrt" and "Kurts Reise" (1994); and Jeroen van der Drift"s documentary "The Big Circus, Five Europeans In New York" (1995). Kraemer made his directorial debut in 1992 with "Kenn ich schon" and followed with other shorts "Der Bosnienteller" (1992), "Die Berufung" (1993),"Unter den Ringen" (1996), and "Als waer"s der letzte Tag" (1996). He made his feature debut in 1998 with "Three Chinamen With A Double-Bass".
