Das alte Gewehr
The Old Gun
1944, France under German occupation. Surgeon Julien Dandieu treats patients regardless of their political beliefs. But as the militia becomes more threatening, he sends his wife, Clara, and 13-year-old daughter, Florence, to the supposed safety of Barberie Castle, near the town of Montauban, to wait out the end of the war. After five days, he is seized by anxiety, and when he goes to visit his wife and daughter, he finds the inhabitants of the village massacred by the Nazis. Clara and Florence are also dead. SS henchmen from the "Das Reich" division raped Clara and set her on fire with a flamethrower. Filled with pain and memories of a happy time, Julien retrieves his grandfather's old hunting rifle from a hiding place in the castle, hunts through the castle's secret passages, and executes the murderers one by one.
