Hannu Salonen was born on the West coast of Finland in 1972. Even before receiving his school-leaving certificate he had already made several shorts, documentaries and a music video. In 1993, he began studies at the German Film & Television Academy (dffb). His films include various short films and documentaries. "Downhill City" was his first feature film. His other films are: "EinTeenager flippt aus" (TV, 2001) and "All" Arrabbiata - Eine kochende Leidenschaft" (TV, 2001).
