Born on 23.3.1976 in a village in southern Germany. After taking final school examinations she moved to Hamburg, taking up various internships in advertising from 1996 onwards. She worked as a film editor on commercials and music videos from 2000 and began a postgraduate course at the International Film School in Cologne in 2002. Directing her first short in 2005, she began making films of gigs for the band Deichkind in 2008.
