Independence
The Afro-German actress Helen Wendt goes on a search for traces along her family history, her identity and her personal independence between the GDR, Mozambique and Berlin. While she learns more about her past through encounters with her family, the film follows independence movements in Mozambique, South Sudan, Great Britain, Catalonia and Bavaria - and asks: What does independence really mean and how do colonialism and racism continue to shape the world.
