Seven Servants
Seven Servants
Archie is a rich old man who lives alone with his maid Anya. He is philosophical, funny and, above all, "incomplete" as a creature. He longs for affection, the true sensation of becoming "one" with all and any creature on Planet Earth. He finds peace only when he is a body energized by love and positive energy of others.
He sees the "incompletion" as an illness and is determined to cure it. He hires servants to complete his being by filling up the holes in his body. Each applicant plugs an opening (nose, ears) but there are still more holes to be filled. Symbolically, he approaches the opposites to conclude his adventures. The true message of the film is revealed at the end where Archie reaches his final wish "unity until the last breath". This film is naturally extremely funny as all the servants are hired to remain "plugged in" for as long as Archie is satisfied with his experience. There are curious and strong surreal elements throughout the film without being deformed because everything throughout the film is real.
