DORA – Escape Into Music

Documentary film about the Croatian composer Dora Pejacevic (1885-1923), whose works were performed in the largest venues in Europe during her lifetime. Yet today she and her music are virtually unknown outside Croatia. In the film, pianist Kyra Steckeweh and filmmaker Tim van Beveren explore the question of how such a diverse and once celebrated body of work could fall into such oblivion. They go in search of Pejacevic's artistic roots and trace the life and career of a great, unjustly forgotten artist.
