Die zärtliche Revolution
The Tender Revolution
This documentary explores the question, what a world would look like in which people genuinely care for one another. After the suicide of a close friend, filmmaker Annelie Boroș sets out on a personal and political journey to find answers. Along the way, she meets individuals who place care and social responsibility at the heart of their lives. Among them is Arnold from Hamburg, who provides round-the-clock care for his severely disabled son while advocating for the rights of family caregivers. Bożena, a 24-hour live-in caregiver from Poland, has endured difficult experiences working in Germany - and now supports fellow care workers in their fight for fair labor conditions. Amanda, a climate activist with family roots in Peru, campaigns for the protection of natural ecosystems, guided by the belief that human and planetary health are deeply intertwined. And Samuel, a wheelchair user, initiates an inclusive housing project with friends - bringing everyday solidarity and participation to life. The film sheds light on how vital societal work - such as caregiving, inclusion, and climate justice - is often done quietly and without recognition. It asks: What systemic changes are needed to make care a foundational principle of society?
