Musica Cubana - A Story to be Told

Inspired by his first visit to the Cuban capital Havana and his conversations with the Cuban saxophonist César López, Kurt Hartel, who holds a doctorate in physics, realized this documentary on his own initiative - and with his own money. He wanted to capture and explore the diversity, immediacy and tradition of Cuban music on film. He talks to musicians and dancers as well as scientists and students. In addition, he also captured dance and music performances on camera.
