Tracing Light - Die Magie des Lichts
The documentary explores the fascinating natural phenomenon of light from both scientific and artistic perspectives, creating a dialogue between physics and art—two realms that are generally perceived as having little in common. Through interviews, leading scientists and artists who study and use light as both material and inspiration share their insights. These include the Extreme Light Group led by Daniele Faccio at the University of Glasgow, the artist duo Semiconductor, the team of Pascal Del’Haye at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Light, and land artist Julie Brook. The film delves into fundamental questions such as what light actually is, how it behaves as both a wave and a particle, how it changes when we perceive it, and how light shapes our understanding of space, time, and the world around us.
