Roger Azar was born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1992. He studied acting and had leading roles in several plays from 2014. After some appearances in short films, he played his first leading role in a feature film in "The Blackout" (LB/US 2019), a family drama about addiction. Before the release of this film, Anne Zohra Berrached cast him in a leading role in her 2018 drama "Die Welt wird eine andere sein" ("Copilot"), about the relationship and marriage of a young woman whose beloved husband becomes one of the terrorists of the September 11, 2011 terror attacks. The film had its world premiere in competition at the 2021 Berlinale. Roger Azar lives alternately in Berlin and Beirut.
