Die Entführung Europas

The short film "The Abduction of Europe" is based on "The Metamorphosis" by Ovid. In this old myth it is the God Zeus who is in love with the mortal King´s daughter Europe. To this purpose he becomes a white taurus. He succeeds in abducting her. In this film everything is a little different: The abducter is abducted, Europe is close to drowning and the Gods of today are not what they used to be.

This motive of mythology has inspired artists in their work. In the history of fine arts it is a subject on its own. This film is a contribution to this topic.
