Moritz Leu was born in 1990. Attending the New Talent acting school in Hamburg as a teenager, he made his stage debut at the Thalia Theater in 2011. This was followed by more stage roles at the Deutsche Schauspielhaus and the Ernst Deutsch Theater. He made his TV debut in a 2012 episode of the children's program "Die Pfefferkörner". After guest-starring in TV series like "Großstadtrevier" and "Notruf Hafenkante", Leu had a supporting role in the made-for-TV feature "Bis zum Ende der Welt (2014). Next, Moritz Leu made the leap to the big screen as one of the leads in the youth drama "Vier Könige".
