Carlos Val was born in 1977 and studied at the Media University in Madrid Complutense. Also active as an instructor for Media and as a screenwriter, his films include: the shorts "The Igloo" (2007), "I've Got A Secret" (2008), and "God Loves Voting" (2014), as well as his feature debut "BesteFreunde" ("BestFriends", 2014, in co-direction with Jonas Grosch).
