1. Intertitle: Loading of scrap iron for charging the Martin furnaces by means of an overhead crane with magnet. The containers loaded with scrap are lifted to the level of the Martin furnaces and the charge is introduced into the furnaces. Picture: Three men standing on the edge above the container, magnets hanging from cranes, carrying scrap metal. In the canal, workers with wheelbarrows and a small industrial locomotive with trailer. The pile of scrap in the canal is larger. Two magnets are lowered on ropes to feed the furnaces.

2. Intertitle: Tapping the Martin steel from the furnaces into the ladle and pouring it into ingot molds. The ingot molds are lifted from the ingots. Picture: Inside the halls, steel is sprayed. Workers use hooks to guide the approaching ladle into position, then lower it and open the gate, allowing the molten steel to flow into the molds. A large grapple lifts a block of steel, and a crane lifts a glowing block of steel.
