Born in Berlin in 1985, she studied philosophy and art history at Freie Universität Berlin and then attended the SF Art & Film Workshop during her studies at San Francisco City College before receiving a scholarship from Berkeley Digital Film Institute. After switching to the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, she attended the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba as part of an exchange programme where she made her second film,"El carro azul".
