Katrin Heinz was born in 1979. After studying design in Cologne and Havanna, she was a trainee at the WDR television network and later became an editor at the ZDF network. Heinz then started writing for the cologne-based production company ACT and the WDR network. She made her feature film debut with the documentary "Art's Home is my Kassel" (co-directed by her sister Susanne Heinz), which premiered at the Dokfest Kassel 2013 and was released in summer 2014. In addition to being a writer and director, Katrin Heinz is also a freelance designer of graphics and animation for TV and film productions.
