Matti Bauer studied Cultural Anthropology at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. He did field research in Amazonia and worked as a freelance author for magazines and broadcast companies. Since 1993 he has been directing documentary films. His films include: "Lokal Derby" (1997), "Bossa Nova" (2004), "The Dairymaid" (2004), "The Snow-Shufflers" (2006), "heavenly Voices" (2008), and "Still" (2012).
