Where's the Beer and when do we get paid?

How did Jimmy Carl Black, legendary drummer of Frank Zappa's "Mothers of Invention", end up in a small village in Bavaria? At the age of 70, "The Indian of the Group", who hardly speaks any German, lives in Höpfling and still goes on tours all over Europe to support himself. When he performs as drummer and singer, people always want him to sign the same old Zappa records, something he has done for forty years now. "To tell the truth, I don't like to play the drums that much anymore. It's too hard a work,man. But I need the money." The filmmakers accompanied Jimmy Carl Black, who played down his diagnosed cancer with humour, for the last two years of his life, visiting him in Höpfling and documenting his live performances. Nobody wanted to realize that the big US tour, which took him also to his hometown El Paso, would eventually be his last.
