Biography
Wolfgang Eissler, born in Bretten in 1971, enrolled in theatre studies and North American studies at Berlin"s Freie Universität from 1993 to 1994 and started to realise several short films and audiovisual art projects from 1995 on. He also worked as a freelance producer with a focus on music videos and advertising films. Eissler made his debut as a director with the (short-lived) children"s crime series "Spur & Partner" (2004) and with the successful children"s series "Löwenzahn" (2007). In the same year, Eissler made his debut as a feature film director with "Berlin am Meer" ("Berlin by the Sea"), a drama about a friendship.
