Born in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1964, he worked as an actor with many famous filmmakers before becoming a director. He made his directing debut in 1992 with the short film "L'Échange", which screened at Cannes, and directed his first feature film "Peau d'Ange" ("Once Upon an Angel") in 2002. As a photographer, his work has been exhibited in high-profile galleries and as a writer he has published his first comic series 'La Forêt'.
