Biography

Mike Eschmann, born 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland, studied directing and film production at the London Film School from 1991 to 1994. One year later, Eschmann went to Los Angeles and enrolled at the American Film Institute to successfully graduate two years later. Back in Switzerland, Eschmann made his feature film debut, the TV movie "Kilimanjaro" ("Kilimanjaro: How to Spell Love"). Three years later, he made his breakthrough with the military training school comedy "Achtung, fertig, Charlie" ("Ready, Steady, Charlie!") which became one of the most successful Swiss films ever. After the TV movie romance "Millionenschwer verliebt" and the youth drama "Breakout" (2007), Eschmann finished the hyped-up comedy "Tell", his most elaborate film so far.
