Biography
Maurus vom Scheidt, born May 25, 1973, in Munich, started a photographer"s training in 1992. He then worked in different positions for several commercial, short film and music video productions. In 1997, von Scheidt joined the production class at Munich"s Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen (HFF) but changed for the director"s class only two years later. From 1999 on, while being still at school, he already made several short and commercial films, for Daimler Chrysler among others. His final film for HFF, "Cuba", won Munich"s "Starter Filmpreis" in 2003. The teenager drama "Wie Licht schmeckt" (2006) is vom Scheidt"s first feature film.
