Laila Meinecke was born in 2005. At the age of ten, she and her twin sister Rosa auditioned for the new "Hanni und Nanni"-film, and were eventually chosen among one hundred sibling pairs to play the lead roles of Hanni (Laila Meinecke) and Nanni (Rosa Meinecke).
