Biography
Barbara Weber was born in Innsbruck in 1966. She studied journalism and sociology in Innsbruck and Trento, Italy, and after her graduation in 1994, she started working as an author for print publications. Since 2005, she's been making TV documentaries, features and portraits, including an award-winning piece ("Lilli – Opa hat Alzheimer") on dementia for a children's television program.
Weber's feature film debut "Kofelgschroa. Frei. Sein. Wollen." chronicles the career of the unique Bavarian folk-crossover band Kofelgschroa. The documentary premiered at the 2014 DOK fest in Munich and was released theatrically the same year.
