Biography

Aleksandar Nikolić was born in Belgrade in 1979. With the outbreak of the war in Yugoslavia in 1991, his family fled to London, where he went to school and later got a university degree in computer graphics. He subsequently worked in post-production for film and television, and edited numerous shorts and documentaries. At the same time, he ventured into directing and screenwriting. This resulted in five short films, which screened at international festivals.

In 2009, Nikolić founded the production company "Perfect Splice" and began work on the documentary "Der serbische Anwalt", for which he accompanied lawyer Marko Sladojević, the defender of Radovan Karadžić in the latter's trial for war crimes and genocide, over the course of four years.
