Das Begräbnis der ehemaligen Kaiserin Auguste Victoria
The footage shows parts of the funeral ceremony for Auguste Viktoria, wife of Kaiser Wilhelm II, in the Temple of Antiquity at Sanssouci Palace in April 1921. In the foreground is the coffin's procession from Potsdam's Imperial Railway Station through Sanssouci Park, where a large number of aristocrats and members of the military were in attendance, and in the background is the cortege of the imperial family. The pompous procession of the old elite resembled the parades of the Empire and attracted several hundred thousand people to Potsdam, some of whom can be seen cheering enthusiastically along the way.
