Film synopsis: Dr. Hans Neumeister is a senior civil servant and lives as a widower with his four children. His domestics never stay long at his house, and once again he is searching for a new housemaid. But the children wish for a woman that will stay – as the new wife for their father. So they search by themselves and advertise for a woman to marry him. Out of all the candidates they choose the right one, but Neumeister of course is mistaking her for the new housemaid.

"Vater braucht eine Frau" was digitized by neue deutsche Filmgesellschaft mbH as part of the film heritage funding program "Förderprogramm Filmerbe" (FFE) in 2020.

The first five minutes of feature-length films digitized with funding from the FFE are presented on filmportal.de to document the successful completion of the respective project.

Das Förderprogramm Filmerbe (FFE) von BKM, den Ländern und FFA stellt seit dem 1. Januar 2019 für den Zeitraum von zehn Jahren jährlich bis zu 10 Millionen Euro für die Digitalisierung von Kinofilmen zur Verfügung.
