Summary
Testdriver
Multiple sclerosis, diabetes, a heart attack, and cancer!
With such a diagnosis, you'd normally lose your will to live – but not 69-year-old wheel-chair-bound Volkmar Kirschbaum, who, despite all these strokes of fate, has not lost his charm. After 43 happy years of marriage, he lost his wife to cancer five years ago. Since then, he has lived alone. He visits his wife's grave every day – without exception. Faced with all these setbacks, it would be understandable to lose one's zest for life, but Volkmar is different and hasn't lost his optimism and humor despite all the tragedy he has experienced. He always has a reason to be on the go in his wheelchair, so it's not surprising that nearly everyone in Muhlhausen knows him.
A highly-emotional portrait between tragedy and comedy about how to deal with your fate without falling victim to it.
