Summary
After beating cancer, 17-year-old Ivy would prefer to take some time to herself. For this reason, her overprotective parents sign Ivy up for a four-week summer camp for teenagers with cancer. At first, Ivy doesn’t want to go, but she decides it’s better to spend her 18th birthday there than with her parents, whom she accuses of exploiting her illness to make themselves seem more interesting. Once she arrives at “Chemo Camp,” she initially finds it hard to follow the many rules and regulations. But unexpectedly, she also makes new friends and opens up more and more. For the first time, she’s able to talk freely with other outsiders about her feelings and her illness, and she experiences an unforgettable summer at “Chemo Camp.”
