Schon lange kein Frühling - Mein Vater, Rumänien und ich

Summary

So Long Since I've Known A Spring

Who was this man who wrote so prolifically yet withheld so much? Together with her mother and sister, director Alexandra Bidian travels to Romania, the native land of her deceased father. Once the site of carefree summer holidays, it now becomes the setting of a careful search for a parent's traces. In this intimate family portrait, Bidian draws closer to her father, a dissident who fled Communist Romania for Germany – driven by lofty, idealistic goals and a life already lived. A story of existential uprooting, boundless longing and childhood memories.
