Summary
Made in EU
In March 2020, Iva works at a textile factory in a small provincial town in Bulgaria, attaching "Made in EU" labels to garments. Despite ongoing health problems, she is denied sick leave. When a Covid test identifies her as the first officially confirmed case in her town, her everyday life collapses overnight. Even though she has not left the area in years, she becomes a projection screen for fear and suspicion. Co-workers, neighbors, her employer—and even her own son—begin to turn away from her. As the pandemic spreads and death tolls rise, the pressure intensifies, and Iva is publicly cast as the one to blame. The film traces how personal isolation, social exclusion, and precarious working conditions in the European textile industry intersect and reinforce one another.
