Fritz Litzmann, mein Vater und ich

Deutschland 2024/2025 Dokumentarfilm

Summary

A documentary in which Aljoscha Pause portrays the life of his father, Rainer Pause – a prominent cabaret artist and founder of the renowned Pantheon Theater in Bonn. The film traces Rainer Pause’s personal and artistic development, from his childhood and discovery of cabaret to his many years of work on and behind the stage. In parallel, Aljoscha Pause reflects on his own childhood and youth in an artist commune, as well as the complex father-son relationship. The film weaves this personal narrative together with a historical perspective on the German cabaret scene. Prominent artists and companions such as Bastian Pastewka, Helge Schneider, Oliver Masucci, Michael Mittermeier, Gerhard Polt, Sebastian Pufpaff, Georg Schramm, Florian Schroeder, and Carolin Kebekus also share their insights.
