Summary

Artist Akiko and computer scientist Sonny are overjoyed at the birth of their son Toru. But their happiness is shattered when Toru is diagnosed with a rare, incurable genetic disorder - his life expectancy estimated at just one year. Refusing to accept the diagnosis, Sonny becomes convinced there must be a mistake. Desperate for a solution, he turns to a top-secret AI experiment he's involved in, using it to search for answers, and ultimately, for a way to save his son. As Sonny’s hope turns into obsession, he begins crossing ethical lines, pushing the boundaries of what technology can and should do. His determination spirals into a dangerous descent, with consequences that reach far beyond his family, threatening to alter the course of humanity itself.
