Last Men in Aleppo
Documentary about the "White Helmets", a civil relief organization working in the war-torn town of Aleppo in Syria. Their voluntary members are the first who came to aid the victims of air raids or bombings. In September 2016, they were awarded the "Right Livelihood Award". The filmmakers accompany three men on their daily mission to save lives, yet often they can only recover bodies. At the same time, the volunteers have to worry about their own families living in the besieged city. Eventually, they are faced with the decision to flee or to stay in the devastated city.
